Fayzah has been dancing Tango extensively since she was a teenager, and was the first partner of Homer Ladas. Throughout the years she has studied with many renowned instructors, including Diego Di Falco, Geraldine Rojas, Quillermina Quiroga, Chicho, Horacio Godoy, & Jorge Torres. In Buenos Aires, she also studied Tango Escenario (stage tango), as well as Salon, Valz, and Milonga styles.
In 2003 Fayzah co-founded Tango Puerto Rico and taught Tango classes in Santurce.
Fayzah’s grandfather was Argentine, and through listening to tango music she feels a connection to some of her ancestors. While living in NYC, Fayzah developed her own solo tango fusion, combining elements of dance styles from North Africa, Arabia, India, & Spanish Flamenco, with Argentine Tango. She was invited to perform and teach workshops at Triangulo Studio for Argentine Tango, after taking her performance on tour in the United States and Canada. Teaching credits also include being on staff at Dardo Galleto Studios & teaching at the San Francisco Tango exchange. Fayzah has performed Tango with Neville Dance Theater Company, at the gala for the Newark Symphony, and at various theater shows and events. In 2015 she was invited to dance with Tango For All Dance Company. While living in NYC, Fayzah also ran an event called El Metejón, where she taught Tango classes, DJ’d, and held practicas and milonguitas.
“Fayzah is a power house of dance knowledge and ability with years of multi-dance form and cross-teaching experience. With this background, she’s able to convey tango information in a clear, confident, and fun way. Plus, it’s always a great pleasure when I get a chance to connect and social dance with her as contemporaries in tango.”
Homer Ladas | San Francisco
“I have taken other Tango classes in Buenos Aires and then I attended Fayzah’s class: I have learned more in one hour with her than in one month in other schools! She doesn’t just teach you the steps, instead she helps you to understand the concepts underlying the movements. She gives you a structure, focusing on how to learn to lead (or follow) and manage your weight. She gave me tips that really made me understand how tango works!”

“I had an excellent experience with Fayzah’s tango class. Truly an immersive experience, I received personalized guidance and feedback on both tango skills as well as etiquette and a better understanding of the cultural that is tango. I took a group class prior, and found Fayzah’s class was much better at accelerating my learning, and was fun to boot! Would absolutely take again.”
Mark Swaringen | Texas
“Fayzah is a fantastic tango teacher. I had no previous experience and have learned a lot in a single session in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She really knows how to engage.”
